How we calculate fees
Where the rates come from
Every rate comes from the platform’s own help centre. We re-check each platform on the first of every month.
- Depop: verified against Depop Help: Seller fees and charges
- Grailed: verified against Grailed Help: What are the fees? and Grailed Help: Does Grailed charge a payment processing fee?
- Fiverr: verified against Fiverr Help: Your earnings page and Fiverr Help: Paying for orders, extras or custom offers
- Copart: verified against Copart: US non-licensed member fees
- eBay: verified against eBay Help: Selling fees
How the maths works
- All amounts are calculated in whole cents, so there are no floating-point surprises.
- Each fee is rounded to the nearest cent on its own (half a cent rounds up), the way platforms charge them.
- Your payout is the price plus the shipping the buyer pays, minus the fees you pay. Profit then subtracts what you paid for the item and your own shipping cost.
- “I want to take home” searches for the lowest list price that reaches your target, including across fee tiers where a higher price can leave you with less.
What is not included
- Income tax, VAT or GST you owe on your earnings.
- Withdrawal or currency conversion fees charged when you move money out.
- Promotions, discounts or custom rates a platform may give individual accounts.
